Two mushrooms go under the name "blue meanies" - a variety of psilocybe cubensis, it's the same as any other cube. - panaeolus cyanescens, a completely different species of mushroom. Pan cyan also contain psilocybin as the main alkaloid, but I've heard that it also contains a different, serotonin-like molecule.

When you say blue meanies, theres one cultivar of cubes called blue meanie and a species called Panaeolus cyanescens. Both have the nick name blue meanies. Both are dung growers. So I presume they will have similar conditions. In some places several other species are called blue meanies as well. It's terrible.
